Aaron Rodgers and Larry Fitzgerald have never faced off against each other in the Super Bowl, but they will duke it out in the NBA Finals.

How is that possible you may ask? Well, when you consider the fact that Aaron Rodgers and Larry Fitzgerald are both minority stake holders in the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns, it becomes a little more clear.

The Bucks defeated the Atlanta Hawks yesterday night to win the Eastern Conference Finals 4-2, advancing to their first NBA Championship since 1974.

On the other side, Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns took down the Los Angeles Clippers in six games, giving Phoenix the chance to win their first NBA title ever.

That gives the Packers quarterback and the legendary Cardinals wide receiver the perfect chance to square up against one another this offseason.

Aaron Rodgers And Larry Fitzgerald See Their Investments Pay Off As Phoenix And Milwaukee Meet In The Finals

Rodgers was the first NFL player to buy shares from an NBA team as he took a 1% percent stake in the Bucks in 2017. The Packers quarterback is a strong supporter of his state’s basketball team as you can often finding him sitting courtside during games.

After the Bucks win over Atlanta, Rodgers was thrilled, sending out one Tweet with just two words:

Larry Fitzgerald followed in Rodgers’ footsteps when he bought a share from the Phoenix Suns in 2020. However, his role with the Suns doesn’t end there. He’ll serve as an advisor and resource for Suns staff as well the Phoenix WNBA team, the Phoenix Mercury.

While both players are committed to their state’s basketball teams, they’re a little less committed when it comes to the teams they actually play for. Rodgers has revealed nothing about his intentions to play for the Packers again, and Larry Fitzgerald is mulling retirement.

However, for one moment, they can be proud sports fans, rooting on their NBA teams as they’ll take center stage in the NBA Finals starting July 6th.
