Michael Jordan Was ‘Unhappy’ With The Chicago Bulls Decision To Trade For This NBA Legend
What was the move the Chicago Bulls made that angered Jordan so much? Well, Chicago decided that they would make a power move to acquire San Antonio Spurs George Gervin.
Gervin’s time with the Spurs was at an end, and the Bulls were hoping they could get a little more out of him before he was finally finished.
However, Jordan wasn’t thrilled as he would say:
“‘I have no comment on the trade. Just say I am unhappy.”
Why was Jordan so mad about the trade? Well, in Jordan’s rookie year, he made the All Star game along with George Gervin. Feeling a sense of superiority, Gervin wanted to keep the young and flashy hot-shot uninvolved in the game, and so he reportedly tried to embarrass Jordan by making sure the Eastern Conference didn’t give him that many touches.
However, all’s well that ends well. Gervin and Jordan got along as teammates as Gervin was able to come to the realization that the both of them were on opposite ends of the spectrum in regards to their career.
