“Just wanted attention to push my NFT”: Andre Drummond admits to hilariously trolling Lakers fans on wanting more playing time alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis
Andre Drummond lets it be known he was trolling Lakers fans when he said he wanted more playing time and just wanted to push his NFT.
Following the formation of the big 3 in Brooklyn, all eyes were on the Los Angeles Lakers to make roster moves before the trade deadline to acquire a 3rd star. Kyle Lowry was the obvious choice and when this didn’t pan out, Andre Drummond put on the purple and gold after he was bought out by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In 21 games for the Lakers, Andre Drummond averaged 11.2 points and 10.2 rebounds while shooting an underwhelming 53% from the field. This would be an outstanding percentage to shoot if you’re any other player but when all you do is lay the ball up on offensive rebounds, missing nearly half of those simply won’t cut.
In those 21 games, Andre Drummond played a little over 24 minutes a game. This, of course, isn’t all too much for a player that was propped up to be the 3rd or 4th best player on a championship contender.
Andre Drummond reveals that he was kidding about his less minutes and merely wanted attention to promote his NFT.
A couple days ago, a fan asked Drummond to play more like Deandre Ayton or Brook Lopex. The former Piston took notice of this and replied with, “Tell your coach to play me more and I could.” This was obviously taken as a shot Lakers bench boss, Frank Vogel.

Fast forward to today and Andre Drummond has revealed to Rachel Nichols that he said that to stir the pot and get his name in the tabloids. The sole purpose of such trolling was to promote his new NFT and nothing more. When asked about his time in LA, he claimed that he had a great time alongside LeBron James.
Well, looks like this strategy of his worked out perfectly to a ‘t’ as his name has once again propped up online and in articles.
