“We didn’t have a lot of time to prepare for South Africa tour,” quotes Virat Kohli
Team India led by Virat Kohli has been playing relentless brand of cricket ever since the toss of the Champions Trophy. The experiment and rotational policies are brought into effect in order to protect the players from fatigue factors.
But, things like that didn’t happen to many players as they did not take rest. There are only a handful of players who have been given rest so far. Kohli who is also playing some non-stop cricket has said that when he would take rest when there is a need to.
Virat Kohli, at the pre-match press conference where he gave his opinions on South Africa tour. He also suggested for change in conditions as they are willing to go for green pitches given that they are going to face South Africa in the times to come.

The Indian skipper is currently involved in team’s set up for the home assignment against Sri Lanka. The upcoming Test is at VCA Stadium, Nagpur.
The greenish wicket is more likely to assist the seamers once again and that will help the pacer get some perfect tonic before heading to South Africa tour.
Once the home series is over, India have just a couple of days before jetting off to South Africa. This means they have less time for ideal preparation for the next tour.
“Yes, because unfortunately, we get only two days before we fly to South Africa after this series gets over. So we have no choice but be in the game situation and think of what’s coming ahead of us.
Had we got a month off ideally, we would have done a proper preparation in a camp sort of scenario, but we have to sort of make do with what we have,” Kohli added.
It’s not about the excuse but India need to adapt to the conditions to good effect. More importantly, it is not about leaving the country with empty-handed.
“As usual, cramped for time, which I think we needed to assess in future as well because we very easily assess the team when going abroad but we don’t look at how many days we have got to prepare before we go to a particular place to play.
And everyone starts judging players when results come after Test matches. It should be a fair game where we get to prepare the way we want to and then we are entitled to be criticised,” Virat Kohli added.
