Luis Suarez reaches 100 La Liga goals ahead of Messi and Eto
Barcelona’s number nine, Luis Suarez has reached 100 La Liga goals, as the ace finisher got to the landmark faster than Samuel Eto and Lionel Messi. Suarez reached this figure in 114 matches, giving him a goal ratio to match any striker from any previous generation.
On this occasion, let’s pay tribute to the great man, as we look back at his journey so far.
Luis Suarez is not someone who is shy of controversy, as the Uruguayan striker has often found himself in trouble with the authorities. His racism allegations in addition to his biting charges have made him someone who is easy to hate by neutrals all over the world.
And it is such a shame, because it takes the focus away from his brilliance on the field. Luis Suarez will go down in history as one of the best strikers of his generations, as the South American has succeeded in whichever league he has played in through out the course of his career.

After excelling at Ajax, Suarez went to Liverpool, where in he became an icon for the Anfield faithful. Suarez almost carried Liverpool to a famous Premier League title, as Liverpool’s number seven was downright unplayable that year.
But then he moved to Barcelona, as Luis Suarez completed his lifelong ambition of playing for the great Catalan club. Suarez was suspended for the first few of months, as he was serving a ban that he received after biting Giorgio Chiellini in the 2014 World Cup.
Suarez did not waste time though, as he quickly formed the famous MSN trio with Messi and Neymar, as the three champions propelled Barcelona to a historic treble. Suarez reached his peak next season, as the hit man scored 40 goals in the league and outscored both Messi and Ronaldo in the process.
Suarez’s brilliance took Barcelona to another league triumph, as he underlined his status as one of the best, if not the best striker of his generation.
This season though, Suarez has looked a little out of sorts, as Barcelona’s number nine has often lacked his usual killer instinct in front of goal.
Maybe it is because age has finally started to creep up on the Uruguayan, as injuries seem to hit him far more than it did in the past. We also learn that Suarez may be sold in the summer, to accommodate Antoine Griezmann at the club, as Barcelona start preparing for the future.
And if this is indeed Suarez’s last season at Barcelona, let’s hope he gives us some memories that will last us a lifetime!
