Barcelona looking to bring in David Alaba and Antoine Griezmann in a 200 Million swoop
It looks like Barcelona are looking to dethrone Real Madrid from the famed crown of being Los Galacticos, by creating an alternate set of Galacticos themselves.
Already having the services of world class players like Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Andres Iniesta and more, Barcelona have roped in Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Countinho to bolster their squad.
But it has now emerged that Barcelona will not stop it here and continue spending in the summer for two of the most sought after players in the world in David Alaba and Antoine Griezmann.
Growing up to become one of the best left backs in football, David Alaba has come to Ernesto Valverde’s list of long term players at the Camp Nou. According to Spanish outlet AS, Barcelona’s technical secretary Robert Fernandez has told president Josep Bartomeu to find the funds required to bring the 25-year-old to La Liga ahead of a summer move for Alaba.
While already planning on a £100m swoop for Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann, Alaba would be a huge difference on the pitch for the Catalans, with his versatility on the field at left back, center back as well as central midfield.
However, should the Austrian international join the Blaugrana, the club would need to force either Lucas Digne or Thomas Vermaelen out – despite both players proving themselves to their new manager so far this season.
But it is said that Bayern have no intention to sell their priced defender anytime soon. Club chief, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge also claimed how essential Alaba is to the team and its structure right now.
That being said, Antoine Griezmann remains a priority for the Camp Nou with Barcelona even plotting a part-exchange deal, that would see Andre Gomes trade places with Atletico Madrid star. Failing to impress at the Catalan giants, Gomes could see a new lease at Madrid whilst giving Griezmann to Barcelona.
The additions of Alaba and Griezmann could certainly bolster this already impressive Barcelona side. Alaba’s versatility makes him even more valuable, as the Austrian would cover several positions for the side.
With Coutinho eventually taking over from Iniesta in the middle of the park, a front three of Griezmann, Messi and Dembele would send shivers down the spines of defenses all over the country.
Now let’s wait and watch!
