WATCH : MS Dhoni hits a brilliant shot down the ground for four
MS Dhoni’s brief cameo in the first ODI pleased the huge Indian contingent present in at the New Wanderers in Johannesburg today.
Rohit Sharma gave India a flying start, as the Indian opener smashed the first over for 14 runs. While Rohit was dismissed soon after that, Dhawan and Kohli continued the momentum for the Indian side.
Kohli then had to depart quickly, as the Indian skipper for once failed with the bat. Dhawan continued on his merry way though, as the left hander smashed his way to 72 of 39 deliveries.
Pandey and also contributed with the bat, as the middle order batsman scored 29 of 27 deliveries. Even Raina made a quick 15 runs of 7 deliveries, as all the Indian batsman contributed to their final total of 203.
Although Dhoni made only 16, he played one fantastic shot down the ground that evoked memories of Dhoni from the past.
Dhoni charged the bowler, and smashed it straight down the ground. The ball hit the boundary ropes before the bowler even turned back, as Dhoni’s power came out in full force.

CURRENT MATCH SCENARIO :
India’s total of 203 is a good score but they would feel that there were about 20 runs short. After the flyer that Rohit gave the side, India would have backed themselves to make 220+, but would eventually settle for this score.
Shamsi’s good performance with the ball would have pleased Chahal, as the Indian spinner will play a big role in whether or not India will win this match.
It’s all set up for a great match!
