Lewis Hamilton wants a level-playing field for 2018 F1 season
Lewis Hamilton was an absentee figure on the first 3 days of the Barcelona testing but got an extended run in that W09 in the afternoon session of testing today, pushing that immaculate W09 to the limits and recording the fastest timing of the 4-day testing.
Mercedes have been dominating Formula One for the past 4 seasons and with the car that they have dished out this season it looks like the other teams could be in for another long F1 season.
However, Hamilton hopes to see a better fight this time round, as the victory would be sweeter if that the title race goes right down to the wire.
Hamilton wants to show the world that the he can win the title not because he has a superior car but because he is a superior driver.
And if the testing is anything to go by, it seems like Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes could be in for a vert tight tussle but Hamilton looks like the fastest man on track this season as well.
“The closer it is, the better it is when you win,” Hamilton said.
“You want the guys you are racing to have a level playing field so that you can really show that there are only small differences between us as drivers.
“You want to be able to show that and it’s magnified if the cars are all the same.” he added.
The 1st Barcelona testing is done with and the second one will begin on the 6th of March until the 9th of March and with the weather almost ruining this one for all drivers and teams, all stakeholders would be hoping for some clear skies and warm weather for the 2nd Testing.
