Steve Smith and Virat Kohli might play together for Surrey
The Australian Cricketer, Steve Smith has been banned for a year from representing his country after he admitted to charges of ball tampering.
The incident took place during the third day of the third test match against South Africa. Smith has been sacked as Australian Captain for two years and might not get another opportunity to be captain again. However, he could be seen playing county cricket during the ban period.
Indian Captain, Virat Kohli is also likely to play county cricket just after the upcoming IPL season. He is likely to miss the historical Afghan test to play cricket in England.
Kohli is making a conscious effort to improve his technique for the upcoming England tour and thus would be playing the county season with Surrey. During the 2014 tour to England, he managed to get only 134 runs in five matches at an average of just 13.40.
After being sacked as captain of Rajasthan Royals (RR), Smith could be seen playing county cricket alongside Virat Kohli. With the inclusion of Virat Kohli and Steve Smith, Surrey could become the strongest side of the tournament.
David Warner and Cameron Bancroft are banned for one year and nine months respectively. David Warner is also expected to sign a deal with a county club during the ban period while Bancroft will play for Somerset.
Moreover, County clubs are looking to sign more foreign players this season.
Ishant Sharma (Sussex), Cheteshwar Pujara and Varun Aaron (Leisturchere) are all set to play county cricket. The South African pacer, Morne Morkel is also in line to play county cricket. Mitchell Marsh will also play county cricket for Surrey this season.
The county cricket is set to be fully packed with stars as it looks.
