Virat Kohli opens up on RCB’s loss to CSK
MS Dhoni’s brilliance was on display yet again at the Chinnaswamy today, taking CSK home with two balls to spare whilst chasing that humongous target of 206.
If there was ever any doubt of MS Dhoni’s skill set or his ability to deliver on the big stage, he has thrown them all out of the window this IPL, dishing out his second big innings of the tournament, this time to take CSK over the line.
Some big hitting from ABD and QDK in the first innings took RCB to a score of 200+ and CSK did not quite start the chase in the right manner, losing wickets at regular intervals, and leaving a little too much to do for their middle order.
But Rayudu and Dhoni stuck it out, battled hard and put the bad balls away with disdain.
All they had to do was take the game deep, as RCB did not quite have the death bowling to deal with the brilliance of Dhoni in the dying overs.
CSK fans were over the moon after the game, especially because of that last ball six from Dhoni, after having constructed one of the best IPL partnerships of all time.
Kohli acknowledged Dhoni’s brilliance with the bat, complimenting the way he has been striking the ball in the middle.
“Nice to see MSD strike the ball well, not against us though. We wouldn’t have wanted that. He is in a good space, batting higher up and expressing himself.” Kohli said in the post match presentation.
CSK go top off the table, and RCB reel at the bottom.
