Ramos posts heartfelt tweet for Mohamed Salah
Real Madrid beat Liverpool to win their third consecutive Champions League title.
The Spanish giants beat Liverpool 3-1 to lift the Champions League title again this season. Real Madrid won in emphatic fashion as they made a strong comeback after stressful initial minutes of the game.
Gareth Bale scored twice, while Karim Benzema opened the scoring for Real, as Liverpool’s goalkeeper made two match-defining blunders for the Reds. With this win, Real Madrid became the first team to win three consecutive Champions League titles. Real’s manager, Zinedine Zidane also maintained his perfect record in the cup finals. However, this was Jurgen Klopp’s sixth cup-final defeat in a row.
A key moment from the match came in 31st minute, when a collision with Sergio Ramos led to shoulder injury for Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian continued to play, but went down minutes later, this time to be subbed off.
Salah made a tearful exit from the pitch, as Cristiano Ronaldo and other Real players came to share his grief.

Even though the Egyptian FA is hopeful that Salah will recover in time for the world cup, an official confirmation still awaits. There are reports of a shoulder dislocation, which, if true, could rule him out of the tournament.
Sergio Ramos was heavily criticised on social media for his role in the injury. After the match, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp called the injury a “big moment in the match.”
‘I know if you say something like that after a game you lost, it sounds like you are a little bit a bad loser but it was, for me, kind of a harsh challenge,” Klopp said.
Ramos’ tweet
Sergio Ramos took to social media to defend himself. He said, “Sometimes football shows you it’s good side and other times the bad.”
El fútbol te enseña la cara más dulce a veces y la más amarga otras. Ante todo somos compañeros. Pronta recuperación, Salah. El futuro te espera.||Sometimes football shows you it’s good side and other times the bad. Above all, we are fellow pros. #GetWellSoon @MoSalah

The Real captain’s further added, “Above all, we are fellow pros.”
Real Madrid were also forced to make an early substitution minutes after Salah’s injury, when defender Dani Carvajal hurt himself while attempting a backheel.
