Henrikh Mkhitaryan injury update: The Armenian picked up an injury during the Europa League opener against Vorskla.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan was forced to watch Arsenal’s match against Everton from the sidelines last week. The Armenian winger suffered an ankle injury during the match against Vorskla Poltava in the Europa League last week.
Mkhitaryan is not expected to regain match-fitness for the Carabao Cup match against Brentford tonight. However, British outlet Standard reports that the winger should be in contention to be picked for the match against Watford.
Arsenal will play Watford in the Premier League this weekend, who are currently 4th in the table with 13 points from six games.

Unai Emery’s side are on a five-match winning streak, and would aim to extend it tonight in the opening fixture of the Carabao Cup.

The Gunners survived a major injury scare, as Standard also reports that Sokratis might also return for the Watford fixture. The centre-back limped off from the field after suffering a dead leg during the match against Everton last week.
The Arsenal head-coach is expected to rotate the squad for the Carabao Cup, and received a boost ahead of the match. Arsenal’s defensive pair of Carl Jenkinson and Sead Kolasinac have returned to full training and can feature against Brentford.

Meanwhile, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who was substituted with injury in Arsenal’s first Premier League game this season against Manchester City, is also making a decent recovery. The defender is expected to return to training by the first week of October.
