MS Dhoni thanks CSK fans for their support

It was an emotional homecoming for MS Dhoni. CSK had given him so much love all through these years and in the twilight of his career, they presented him with yet another opportunity of being the leader of a side and bringing to the fore his leadership qualities.

Many disregarded CSK after the auction, as the players that they had drafted into their squad too were in the twilight of their career.

Age has been a huge factor in T20 cricket and with 9 30+ players in their squad, it seemed like CSK might have a tough time coping with the pace of IPL 2018.

Little did we know that Dhoni had already planned to make every franchise play to CSK’s pace rather than the other way round.

Every CSK player contributed to their side’s win at different stages during the tournament with Dhoni’s batting in the middle order becoming the major reason for this short renaissance.

At the end, Dhoni and co, just had too much experience for SRH and ended up brushing them aside in what was largely a one-sided final.

Dhoni thanked CSK fans for all their support all through the season, despite their home matches being shifted away from Chennai.

He also had a cheeky little quote for Ziva in there.

“Thanks everyone for the support and Mumbai for turning yellow.Shane ‘shocking’ Watson played a shocking innings to get us through.end of a good season.Ziva doesn’t care about the trophy, wants to run on the lawn according to her wordings.” Dhoni tweeted.

Dhoni’s next assignment is the tour to Ireland and England where in India will first play a two game T20I series with Ireland followed by a 3 game T20I and 3 game ODI series against England.
