Agha Salman injury: Why is Salman not bowling in PAK vs NZ Karachi test?

Day two of the 1st test between Pakistan and New Zealand belonged to all-rounder Agha Salman. The spin-bowling all-rounder smashed his maiden test century to lead Pakistan to a brilliant total, but his absence in the bowling department has been surprising for the fans.

Pakistan started the day at 317-5, and they lost Babar Azam on the 4th ball of the day. Salman was at the non-striking end when Babar got out, and he had a business to finish. He was aggressive in his approach, and he played the spinners of New Zealand with a lot of comfort.

New Zealand managed to get wickets from the other end, but Salman kept on fighting the Kiwi spinners. On the last ball of the 128th over, Salman smashed Ish Sodhi for a boundary to complete his maiden century. He was pretty calm after entering the 90s and smashed two continuous boundaries after reaching 94 runs.

The New Zealand batters have started their innings on a perfect note where the opening duo of Devon Conway and Tom Latham stitched a century partnership on a flat Karachi track. It is certain that there is absolutely no help for the pacers here, and the spinners will have to take wickets for the side.

Pakistan are playing this game with 2 specialist spinners in Abrar Ahmed and Nauman Ali, whereas Agha Salman is the spin all-rounder. Both Abrar and Nauman failed to pick wickets for the side, and surprisingly even captain Babar Azam came to roll his arms in the match.

There are a lot of questions that why Salman is not bowling as he is a brilliant off-break bowler, and he has 97 FC wickets under his belt as well. However, the reason behind Salman not bowling is he is not on the pitch only due to a niggle. The extent of the niggle is not known but it is serious enough to not allow him to come on the field.
