“Right at his ankle”: Naseem Shah hilariously massages Aleem Dar’s leg after a Mohammad Wasim Jr throw hits him on his ankle during PAK vs NZ 2nd ODI

They say there’s hardly a dull moment whenever the Pakistan Cricket team step out on the field and go about their business. A moment as such was witnessed on Wednesday, during the second ODI between hosts Pakistan and New Zealand at the National Stadium in Karachi.

It all happened during the 36th Over of the New Zealand innings, being bowled by pacer Haris Rauf. Kiwi batter Glenn Phillips flicked the ball towards Mohammad Wasim Jr. stationed at the deep square leg fence.

Wasim, innocuously threw the ball towards the non-striker’s end and despite Dar noticing the ball approaching towards him through the corner of his eye right at the end, could not prevent it from hitting him on his right ankle.

An absolutely livid Aleem Dar threw Rauf’s sweater on the ground upon being hit, while Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and a few other players had no other option but to laugh at the reaction by the veteran umpire.

A few moments later, pacer Naseem Shah came up with the cutest of gestures as he was seen rubbing/massaging Dar’s right leg so as to relieve him from the pain for a few seconds.

Dar, on the other hand, seemed to indicate that his focus was on Phillips who was perhaps running straight on the pitch while taking the single, and not on the throw from the deep.

New Zealand tighen the noose on Pakistan

As far as the ongoing match is concerned, having handed the target of 262 runs to the hosts, New Zealand have bowled with utmost discipline and have dismissed three of their batters at the score of 75 after the end of 24 Overs (at the time of writing).

Skipper Babar Azam (34*) and Southpaw batter Haris Sohail (7*) were at the crease with the required run-rate having climbed up over the 7 runs per Over mark.
