Lingard registers his first World Cup goal against Panama

England play their second match of the World Cup today against Panama.

The ‘Three Lions’ met Panama in their second group match of the World Cup, and they’ve been in complete charge of the game. By the end of first half, England put five goals past Panama, two of them being penalties. While Harry Kane struck both of them, John Stones scored a brace through two superb headers, while Jesse Lingard pulled off a traditional curler from out of the box.

Jesse Lingard scored the goal in the 36th minute of the game. Lingard was easily the best player on the pitch, and he also won the first penalty of the match. As England led another attack on the hapless Panama defence, Lingard cut inside and delivered a sweet ball outside towards Raheem Sterling, who cheekily passed a return.

Lingard then took a shot over the top corner from over 20 yards, and the goalkeeper had a little chance to stop the ball.

By the end of half time, England has almost secured a place in the round-of-16, and they will play the potential decider for the first place in the group against Belgium, who have won both of their games.
