Lewis Hamilton Open To Joining NASCAR With $10 Billion Worth Company In The Future

Lewis Hamilton is one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time. He made his debut in 2007 and since then, has broken almost every single record there was in F1. Hamilton has the most number of race wins, fastest laps, and pole positions in F1. The only record there is left to break is that of becoming the driver with the most World Championship wins.

Currently, Hamilton is tied with the legendary Michael Schumacher at the top. Both of them have seven World Titles to their name with seven, but Hamilton is looking to make that eight in the coming few years. Despite being 38 years old now, he is showing no signs of slowing down and has not hinted at leaving the sport in any capacity in the near future.

Regardless, age is catching up to Hamilton, even though it is just in the form of numbers. A lot of people have wondered what he will be pursuing after his F1 career ends and there is a possibility that he sticks to racing. Back in 2017, the Stevenage-born driver admitted that he was open to joining NASCAR under certain circumstances.

Lewis Hamilton open to Puma collaborations for NASCAR

Hamilton is a brand ambassador for Puma which is one of the biggest brands in the world. They are worth over $10 billion and have some of the biggest sporting stars under their wing. Back in 2017, he appeared for an interview where he admitted that NASCAR is something he is definitely interested in. He also wants Puma to do something about it.

He insisted that he was committed to Formula 1 for the foreseeable future, but was open to making guest appearances.

“I’m fully committed to F1 at the moment,” he said as quoted by GrandPrix247. “But I think at some point in the future I might do, like, a guest appearance. But if Puma did it, I think it would look sick. We could make it look so cool. So, yeah, I can’t rule it out at the moment.”

NASCAR reminds Hamilton of Formula 3

Back in 2015, Hamilton traveled to the Homestead-Miami Speedway, to watch Jeff Gordon make the final start of his legendary NASCAR career. There, he got a taste of what life at NASCAR feels like. Hamilton felt that the teams are much smaller than those at F1. It even reminded him of his junior career.

“It’s a very different world from F1,” he said. “The teams are much smaller, to the extent that it almost reminded me of my Formula Three days. It’s not plush.”
