Yuzvendra Chahal discloses how MS Dhoni helps him while bowling
Indian leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was all praise for veteran keeper batsman MS Dhoni in a recent interview and talked about how Dhoni helped him while he was bowling.
Dhoni is such a great cricketer and has had so much experience that he is very handy to have in the team. With the team going through transition, it is always nice to have a seasoned bloke like him in the team.
Dhoni not only contributes with the bat and is outstanding with the gloves, he also helps his teammates whenever he can. Dhoni keeps chirping from the back when Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav are bowling.

This has become a common site in Indian cricket in the recent days. Whenever the spinners err in length or line, there is always someone from the back of the wickets to help them get back on track. Recently, in the show ‘What the duck season 3’ with Vikram Sathaye, Chahal revealed how Dhoni’s advise helped him instantly and he ended up taking a wicket on the very next ball.
It was the second match against South Africa and left-hander JP Duminy was at the crease. Chahal was trying too many variations when Dhoni told him to bowl wicket to wicket. Chahal could not understand what Dhoni meant for a moment but decided to follow his advice.
On the very next bowl, Duminy failed to pick the stock delivery as he was found plumb in front of the wickets. Chahal says that in hindsight he can now understand what Dhoni meant because Duminy was looking a bit tentative at the crease. He said that when Mahi bhai is behind the wickets, ‘Aapak aadha kaam to wo hi kar dete hai’, meaning Dhoni does half of the bowler’s work.
