Inter Milan have ‘begun negotiations’ to sign Luka Modric

The Real Madrid midfielder was one of the best performers in the recently concluded World Cup in Russia.

Luka Modric is one of Real Madrid’s most important and among their best players. The Croatian was signed by the Whites in the summer of 2012 from Tottenham Hotspur. He was infamously dubbed as the worst signing at that time. Since then, the 32 year old has certainly come a long way to become one of the world’s best midfielders.

The Croat has been linked with a move to the Serie A with Inter Milan having their eyes affixed on him. The Nerrazzuri are one of the fallen European clubs, but have been noteworthy with their business in this transfer window.

Most prominently, they managed to sign Radja Nainggolan from AS Roma for £32 million. The San Siro club are now interested in signing Luka Modric, according to transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio of Sky Italia.


The Italian giants have also been in the transfer market looking for a midfielder who can cover the attack and defence having already signed Nainggolan. The name that fits their requirement is Arturo Vidal.

The Chilean has been on their radar since almost a month now. He is ready to leave Bayern Munich.

Luka Modric is currently on holiday after leading Croatia to the World Cup finals. The Golden Ball winner is however going to cut his holiday short to return to Real Madrid duty and play the UEFA Super Cup. Real Madrid already lost their best player Cristiano Ronaldo to Italian giants Juventus.

It remains to be seen whether the Whites will be listening to offers for their Croatian starlet this summer. Fair to say, Modric is the engine to Real Madrid’s system and a decision to get rid of him would be pure stupidity. Nevertheless, he will join the team on the 9th of August in Madrid.
