Chinnaswamy Stadium Pitch Report for RCB vs KKR IPL 2023 Match in Bengaluru
The 37th match of the ongoing 16th season of the Indian Premier League will take place between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders tomorrow, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Having donned the captaincy hat yet again with a not-so-fully fit Faf du Plessis playing as the impact player, Virat Kohli has led the RCB to back-to-back wins in the previous two matches, as they presently find themselves at the fifth spot in the points table.
All the three of their batting superstars in du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, and Kohli himself have been amongst the runs in the season so far, with pacer Mohammed Siraj breathing fire as well with the new ball in hand.
Their death bowling still seems to be their only area of concern, but Harshal Patel has done decently well in this phase during the previous two games to further add to the positivity in the camp.
KKR, on the other hand. are all at sea presently to say the least. They have now lost each of their previous four matches, to be presently placed at the eighth spot in the points table.
While their spinners have been coming up with decent enough performances, it is their batters – the top-order in particular, and the pacers who will have to take the mantle upon themselves to bring their campaign back on track.
Chinnaswamy Stadium Pitch Report for RCB vs KKR IPL 2023 Match in Bengaluru
During the previous night match at this venue between the RCB and CSK, both the teams collectively scored 444 runs across 40 Overs, in what was an excellent pitch to bat on coupled with the added advantage of the relatively shorter boundaries for the batters.
Even during the previous day match at this venue, batting became much easier especially under lights, as admitted later by Kohli during the post-match interaction.
“The pitch looked dry and I mentioned to the guys that they will have 10 overs under lights which is very difficult out here,” remarked Kohli post the match against the Royals.
The average team score across the five IPL 2023 matches in Bengaluru has been 194.2 runs, which is enough indication as to what shall be expected of the pitch tomorrow.
