Jimmy Butler Nickelback: How The Heat Star Drowning His Sorrows In The Rock Band Led To An Unprecedented Invite
Jimmy Butler seems to be one of the only superstars in the NBA who doesn’t like the rap genre of music all too much. Him blasting Nickelback in the locker room is quite the tell-all regarding his choice of music. His favorite genre is certainly country music as he’s admitted on this on multiple platforms.
Butler’s love for country music is so deep that he even appeared in a 2017 music video for Luke Bryan’s ‘Light It Up’ song. To add to his love for country music, he’s even begun working on a country album in Nashville, something which seemed like it was a long time coming for the Miami Heat All-Star.
As for his love for Nickelback, Butler has never explicitly stated that he’s enamored by the Canadian rock band. However, his actions behind closed doors are more than enough to confirm just how much he loves their music.
Jimmy Butler received an invite from Nickelback
Jimmy Butler never really turns it up in the regular season for the Miami Heat. He’s a unique superstar who seemingly waits for the Playoffs to showcase just how good of a player he is on the offensive end of the floor.
However, during this particular matchup against the Orlando Magic, Butler went off for 38 points. Despite this, the Heat lost. As a form of punishment for his teammates for dropping a game to a lottery team, he blasted Nickelback in the locker room.
What shocked his teammates even more (perhaps not as much if you knew Jimmy) was that he knew the lyrics to ever song he put on by the band. Nickelback got wind of this and quote tweeted a Bleacher Report tweet, saying, “Jimmy Butler, we’re going on tour this summer, hit us up if you want to come sing along live.”

Seems as though playing Nickelback in the locker room gave the Heat a short burst of energy. They would go on to win a game against the Utah Jazz and the Memphis Grizzlies after this dropped bout against the Orlando Magic.
Jimmy Butler had one of the greatest Playoff performances in NBA history
Jimmy Butler has had some of the most iconic Miami Heat Playoff performances over the past few years. his series against the Celtics last year or his Finals run in 2020 are up there but his 56 points against the Bucks in Game 4 of the first round this year was truly a masterpiece.
His 56 points led to the Heat capturing a commanding 3-1 lead over the one seeded Milwaukee Bucks. After the game, Butler claimed he was ‘just hooping’ and dismissed the existence of ‘Playoff Jimmy’.
