Charles Leclerc Provides an Important Update About His F1 Future in Stark Contrast to Max Verstappen

Charles Leclerc has provided an important update about his future that would be music to the ears of his fans. In stark contrast to Max Verstappen, the Monegasque has made it clear that he’s not planning to retire anytime soon.

When asked in a recent interview with Canal Plus F1 about what would he be doing in 10 years’ time, the 25-year-old replied, “I am 25. I will be 35 (in 10 years), I hope to still be on the grid. I hope to have won a few titles in the meantime, but yes, to still be an F1 driver“.

On the other hand, Verstappen has suggested on several occasions that he may not continue in F1 after his current contract with Red Bull ends. The Dutchman, whose current deal ends in 2028, has suggested that he would like to try other forms of racing once he retires from F1.

While speaking at a press conference during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend, Max Verstappen opened up about his F1 future. Despite earning a whopping $55 million annually, the Dutchman questioned if he is actually living a good life.

As quoted by Autosport, the 25-year-old said that while he does enjoy racing and winning, he is still not sure if this is what it means to live a “good life“. Verstappen believes that there is a point in one’s career when they feel like doing “other stuff“.

When it comes to other forms of racing, Verstappen has often revealed his interest in Le Mans or other forms of endurance racing. The only form of racing that he is not keen to compete in is IndyCar.

Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc have contrasting starts to the 2023 season

2022 season title rivals Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc’s start to the 2023 campaign could have hardly been any more contrasting. Reigning Drivers’ Champion Verstappen has continued his form from last season as he has already won four of the six races that have taken place so far.

Consequently of these results, he has scored 144 points and already has a 39-point lead in the championship over his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez. On the other hand, as for Leclerc, it has been a disastrous start.

The Monegasque is currently seventh in the championship with just 42 points. He is six points behind his Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz and a further eight points behind Mercedes’ George Russell.
