Playing Genie to Cancer-Fighting 3YO Boy, Mercedes’ Class Act Leaves Fans Teary-Eyed
Mercedes has lately taken themselves to the good book as they played Genie to a cancer-fighting three-year-old boy. The Silver Arrows arrived at the kid’s doorstep to fulfill his wish.
Named Morgan Ridler, the young kid was due to visit Silverstone for this year’s British Grand Prix with his parents. However, as per his medical report, doctors said the time is limited, and he might not make it there to see Lewis Hamilton and Co. run through the British track.
Huge shoutout to @MercedesAMGF1
Morgan was diagnosed with cancer at two years old, his parents were due to take him to Silverstone but the doctors have said time is limited.
So Mercedes went to him today, outside his house.

Hearing this, the German team brought one of its challengers to surprise the young lad in front of his house. Admittedly, Morgan’s parents arranged a supercar event in Gorseinon, near Swansea, and Mercedes was there in the line-up.
Morgan’s Story and Mercedes
Morgan Ridler was diagnosed with a rare condition of cancer in October 2021. However, his parents were told that the young kid’s treatment was not working despite relapsing.
This has caused the doctors to conclude that the three-year-old’s quality of life will now be the priority for now. Morgan was moved to palliative care from there on, and his movements to travel were restricted.
Through his battle with cancer, Morgan became the inspiration behind Morgan’s Army Charitable Foundation. This foundation supports families of children that are diagnosed with cancer in areas around South Wales.
@MercedesAMGF1 team outside my house for an amazing cause in support of young Morgan Ridler and his battle with cancer. Sadly he is now on end of life care but he is so brave and it was an amazing turnout for him ♥️ pic.twitter.com/et7VLCEOdY

After hearing Morgan’s story and sharing a day with the boy, a Mercedes spokesperson told Racingnews365, “We were planning on inviting Morgan to come to Silverstone with us to meet the drivers and see the cars in the garage.”
“But he sadly needed to stop his treatment, so his condition didn’t allow him to travel anymore. So we decided to bring the car to him along with the drivers’ helmets, steering wheel, race suit, and gloves for him to get a little race track feel,” concluded the Mercedes spokesperson.
Fans react to the amazing gesture by Mercedes

The Silver Arrows isn’t new to this type of initiative
Admittedly, the German team earned huge respect from the part of fans with this praiseworthy move, showing Morgan messages from Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, and Toto Wolff.
However, the Brackley-based team has been a regular outfit for initiatives like this. Earlier, Mercedes sent Hamilton’s car and his 2019 Spanish GP trophy to a terminally ill fan, Harry Shaw.
Harry was a Mercedes fan who had also been diagnosed with cancer. Unfortunately, Harry passed away a few days after the Mercedes AMG F1 team was at his doorstep, fulfilling his wish.
