Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid highlights: Twitter reacts on the goalless draw
TheSportsRush brings Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid highlights, as the first Madrid derby of the season ends in a draw.
Both the Madrid clubs shared the spoils in their first meeting of the season at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium today. The match ended in a goalless draw, with both the teams coming close to breaking the deadlock.
Real Madrid dominated the match, but couldn’t find the breakthrough. Marco Asensio in particular missed an easy chance to secure a win for Real Madrid, before Antoine Griezmann was denied by a fine save from Courtois.
Real Madrid missed the opportunity to take a three-point lead over arch-rivals Barcelona, who also played a draw at home against Athletic Bilbao. With 14 points in seven matches, the Los Blancos maintain their second position in La Liga.
Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, are fourth in the table with 12 points, behind Sevilla at third.
Julen Lopetegui’s side will now travel to Moscow where they will take on CSKA Moscow in the Champions League group stage, before they return to La Liga action with an away trip to Alaves, who are currently fifth.
Here are some of the twitter reactions to the goalless draw in the Madrid derby:
I don’t understand Benzema and Asensio finishing this game.

FT: RMA 0-0 ATM
Good overall performance. Nacho was so bad. Man cant pass for shit. He’s really the only one that was shite. Asensio could of scored for us, but Oblak saved his shot. Ceballos did so much in 45min. We prob could of won the game if we had started him. TBO saved us

0 goals in 16 league games for Costa. Lucky for him his name isn’t Benzema or else he’d be destroyed in the football world. pic.twitter.com/OC0I5HaWoJ

Lopetegui really hates Mariano already for some unknown reason and he’s really giving Vinicius a couple of minutes to win us the game 😂😂
