WATCH: Kimi Raikkonen’s leave me alone moment in 2018

Kimi Raikkonen has been known for his limited conversations on the team radio and during press conferences, something that the entire F1 fraternity associates Raikkonen with.

And if there is one such Kimi comment that every F1 fan knows, it has to be the ‘leave me alone, I know what I am doing’ comment that he made during the 2012 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Kimi’s race engineer at Lotus was informing the Finn that Alonso was close to 5 seconds behind him(after Kimi had taken the lead on lap 20).

Kimi responded with what has to be the greatest ever Kimi phrase; telling his engineer to leave him alone as he knew what he was doing.

“Just leave me alone, I know what I’m doing!” said Kimi Raikkonen.

Later on in the race, the engineer had asked Kimi to take care of his tyres, which once again saw Kimi blurting out a phrase in irritation.

“Yes, yes, yes, I’m doing that all the time. You don’t have to remind me every 10 seconds!” he said.

The ‘leave me alone, I know what I am doing’ statement became an Internet sensation after the radio message came out on television, with most of Kimi related fan merchandise related to that very phrase.

And while, that actual incident happened in 2012, Kimi recreated the incident recently, during the ongoing season as well, when the camera tried to get too close to him, shoving it away with his hands and recreating that famous ‘leave me alone moment’.
