FIA announce Verstappen penalty over Ocon incident
Max Verstappen has dominated the headlines post the Brazilian GP thanks to his on and off track altercation with Esteban Ocon.
While he wasn’t reprimanded for his on track actions, he was so for his off track ones, wherein he went up to Ocon in the garage and pushed him a couple of times.
Ocon immediately spoke to the media about the altercation and wanted the FIA to look into it as Max’s actions were not justified, no matter what he felt about the on-track action.
The FIA responded by calling both the drivers and while Ocon was given a 10 second penalty, Verstappen has now been given two days of community service for pushing Ocon post the race in the garage.
“Verstappen is “required to perform two days of public service at the direction of the FIA within six months of the incident” as punishment for pushing Ocon” the official statement read.

“While sympathetic to Verstappen’s passion, the Stewards determined that it is the obligation of sportsmen at this level to act appropriately and as role models to other drivers at all levels and found that Verstappen failed in this respect.” the stewards added.

Who do you think was at fault and is the punishment justified for Verstappen?
