Granit Xhaka became Arsenal’s first signing of the summer when he joined the club in May 2016 from Borussia Monchengladbach for a reported transfer fee of £34m.

Xhaka spent four seasons in Germany, including 2014/15 when he was named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season.
