Steve Kerr gives new update about Steph Curry’s injury

Steph Curry has been out with a groin injury since November 8 and has been unable to provide his services for the team at a time when the Warriors have been going through their worst phase.

After the altercation between KD and Draymond against the Clippers, a game that GSW lost, things have been going downhill for them.

Injuries to Steph and Draymond and rare dip in form for the entire unit meant that the Warriors were for the first time in the last few years searching for answers.

Things have gotten better since, as they are currently on a 3 game winning streak and are all set to welcome Steph Curry back.

However, he might not be back as soon as we had expected him to.

On Monday night, post the game against Orlando Magic, Kerr had said that Curry would be in line to face the Raptors on Thursday.

But, according to the update provided by Kerr on Tuesday night, Curry will not be able to return on Thursday, as the Warriors don’t want to rush the two time MVP back into action.

“He’s right now entering the point where we can finally say, ‘All right, is it time?’ That’s all based on [director of sports medicine and performance] Rick Celebrini’s decision,” Kerr said in an interaction with Damon Bruce on 95.7 The Game.

“He’s had athletes in the past who have had groin injuries, come back and had no symptoms and had a setback because they just didn’t take the full time. It’s not enough to just say ‘OK, Steph feels good, we can throw him back out there again.’

“But with that said, I think we’re very close to the time where we can say, ‘All right, there’s been enough time.’ He’s pain free, the symptoms are gone, and ultimately Rick will make the decision when he’s comfortable putting him out there. My best guess is Detroit [on Saturday], but we’ll see what happens.” he added.

Curry was also involved in an ugly three vehicle crash in Oakland earlier this week, but thankfully came out of it unharmed.

He was scheduled to take part in full practice on Tuesdya, with the Warriors scheduled to leave for Toronto on Wednesday.

According to Kerr, he won’t risk him during the game against the Raptors, but could he maybe travel there?

Warriors fans would be hoping that Curry gets some game time in Toronto, as the Raptors have been putting up a strong show this season and Klay Thompson believes that they could be the strongest contender for the Western Conference finals this year.
