Fred comments on Mourinho after lack of game time at United
Fred comments on Mourinho: The Brazilian midfielder spent most of his time at the bench since joining the club this season.
Manchester United are currently 7th in the Premier League table, and have been going through a rough patch at the moment. The side were held to a 2-2 draw at Southampton, and the pressure on Jose Mourinho is rising.
However, one of the big issues with United at the moment is the absence of Fred. The Brazilian midfielder has played only 7 league games for the side this season, having spent most of his time on the bench.
The decision to drop bench was significantly criticised during the Manchester derby, when Mourinho selected an unfit Fellaini in the starting XI over the Brazilian.
The midfielder has now spoken about his annoyance at not getting much game time in an interview.
Fred comments on Mourinho:
The Brazilian midfielder spoke in length about his role in the side in an interview last week. The player stressed that he is sad at not being able to play, but will continue to work hard.
“Of course, I was annoyed, but I have to know how to deal with the sadness to be able to help me take a step forward,” Fred said.
The midfielder stated that he will be patient, and insisted that it has been difficult to adapt due to lack of game time.
Fred: “The coach (Mourinho) chose not to put me on the team, it’s his choice. I always do my job and I can’t let that affect my mentality, I can’t let that disturb me. I have to be patient. ” #MUFC

“The coach has chosen not to put me in the team. That’s his choice. I still do my job and I can’t let it affect my mindset, I cannot let that shake me. I have to be patient.
“It’s been a bit of a difficult start for me at United because I have not been playing so much. I had a lot of games in Shakhtar, but it’s a little bit different here. It’s normal, of course, a process of adaptation to a different league.”
Fred dropped. Martial dropped. Rashford somehow in the side. Matic/ McTominay/ Fellaini all on the pitch. What’s the point? Just lemme know when we’ve sacked Mourinho. I’m through with this “Just chuck on as many lanky blokes as possible and hope they score a header” bullshit.

Fred also stated that he was happy with the performance of the side against Young Boys, but hopes to play more.
“Although I’ve been to Europe before, now I am in a different country and I have to go through a new process of settling in. But today I see myself much better and I hope that my football will be 100 per cent soon.
“I think I had a great performance against Young Boys in the Champions League. We had the opportunity to score a few times before we scored the goal at the end, but I was very happy to have returned to the field and I hope to continue playing more.”
