Mourinho farewell to United: Jose Mourinho left Manchester United earlier today, two days after 3-1 loss at Anfield.

Manchester United announced the departure of Jose Mourinho from the club earlier today. The club posted the announcement on their social media handles and an official statement on the website.

Manchester United thanked Jose Mourinho for his services to the club, and wished him luck for his future endeavours.

Jose Mourinho, during his time at Manchester United, won three trophies, which included the club’s first ever Europa League title, a Community Shield and the EFL Cup.

As Mourinho left Manchester United, he had a special message for the staff at Manchester United.

Mourinho farewell at United:

English media outlet Mirror caught Jose Mourinho outside the Lowry Hotel as he left what has been his home for the past three seasons.

As Jose Mourinho was leaving in his car, he met the club’s staff and photographers outside the hotel. The club members asked him how he has, to which he merely replied, “Okay my friend,” before leaving in his car.

Earlier, Manchester United released a statement announcing the departure of Jose Mourinho.

“Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect,” a club statement said.

“The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and wish him success in the future.

“A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager.”

What next?

Manchester United are yet to announce their interim manager, but there has been reportedly a contact made to former Manchester United star Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Laurent Blanc has also been linked with the job.
