Isiah Thomas weighs in on GOAT debate
The GOAT debate has brought about multiple view points from the NBA fraternity. Former player, current players and the media have weighed in on the debate and have presented the world with contrasting opinions on who should be actually considered the greatest player of all time.
LeBron’s recent comments on the Cavaliers’s 2016 NBA finals victory making him the greatest player of all time have fuelled further discussion about the ‘GOAT debate’.
“That one right there made me the greatest player of all-time,” James said speaking about that 2016 NBA finals comeback win
“That’s what I felt.” he added.

Number of players have since commented on LeBron’s statement, with a few of the former players criticising him for not being humble about it.
Isiah Thomas, a massive LeBron fan, is one of them, with the Celtics legend calling out LeBron’s attitude.
And it did come as a massive surprise, as in an earlier interview, Isiah Thomas had himself admitted that LeBron had overtaken Michael Jordan to become the greatest player of all time.
Following LeBron’s statement about race relations in America, Isiah Thomas felt that LeBron had overtaken Jordan in terms of greatness.
“LeBron James has always used his platform and his voice to shine it on communities and on the powerless in our society,” Thomas said.
“In this moment right here, he has moved — in my opinion — into the greatest ever.
“Why? Because what he’s done in the game and what he’s doing outside of the game. What LeBron James just did today for this generation and generations to come, on this day, what he just stood for and what he just did socially with that press conference, he’s the greatest player to ever play the game.” he added.
Is LeBron the GOAT? He thinks so.

But now Isiah Thomas has gone onto criticise LeBron, but that is largely because how LeBron handled the GOAT question, or conveniently give himself that tag.
“There’s a certain thing about greatness that demands you have humility with greatness,” Isiah Thomas said.
“I have never heard Michael Jordan say he is the greatest of all-time.
“Even though he may think that, even though Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar] may think that, you don’t just come out and say that.” he added.
Isiah Thomas further attacked LeBron by saying that his statement was disrespectful to lot of current players and if it were for him, he would be taking a go at LeBron anytime he came against him on court from here on.
