IPL 2019 News: Yuvraj Singh discloses how he will help Rohit Sharma at MI
Yuvraj Singh discloses how he will help Rohit Sharma: The veteran all-rounder sounded confident regarding the upcoming challenge.
Veteran India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who last played for India during India’s tour of West Indies in 2017, has given the impression of gearing up well for the 12th season of the Indian Premier League.
Yuvraj, who was priced at INR 1 crore in the auction, remained unsold in the first round of the auction. With franchises having the option to recall the unsold players, Yuvraj was recalled and had almost remained unsold for the second time before Mumbai Indians acquired his services for IPL 2019.

In a recent conversation with The Times of India, Yuvraj opened up on his plans for the cash-rich league. Keen to contribute in the middle-order, the 37-year old cricketer expressed his intentions of taking pressure from the top-order.
“I think, if I can contribute in the middle-order, it will just take some weight off him [Rohit Sharma] and he can just go and play his natural game, while opening. [We will] see how the combinations [go],” Yuvraj was quoted as saying.
“I’m very fired up boss, I have been training in the nets every day,” Yuvraj further said expressing his eagerness to take the field for Mumbai Indians.

Having represented Kings XI Punjab (twice), Pune Warriors India, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the past, Mumbai Indians will be Yuvraj’s sixth IPL franchise.
After receiving a homecoming from Kings XI Punjab last season, Yuvraj failed to deliver for the franchise he had led during IPL’s inaugural season. In the eight matches which Yuvraj played for the Kings XI last season, he scored 65 runs at an average of 10.83 and a strike rate of 89.04. Such paltry numbers had it in them for his franchise to release him and that is what eventually happened.
