Why Unai Emery is ready to sell Alexandre Lacazette
The reason behind Unai Emery’s decision to sell Alexandre Lacazette in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal have been inconsistent since the start of the season by blowing cold and hot. The English outfit have not been able to lure their targets to the Emirates despite Unai Emery desperately wanting new additions to the squad in the January transfer window.
Denis Suarez was the only signing completed in the winter window, but it is also understood that the Spaniard was keen on a centre-back to cut down the leakage of goals at the back. The deals did not go through because the Gunners boss did not have much money on the table to work.
Unai Emery has been trying to dispel Mesut Ozil from Arsenal after the German International has failed to adapt to the Spaniard’s philosophy which is by pressing higher up the pitch and win back balls. But, the former Real Madrid midfielder is totally a different kind of player. Hence, Emery will be trying to cash in on him in the summer window.
Alexandre Lacazette is another player who could leave the London outfit, according to the English publication Metro. It is understood that Unai Emery is preferring Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang through the middle and is ready to strengthen other positions by selling Lacazette should a suitable offer arrive on the table.

The French International has started 18 Premier League games, but he has often been substituted despite Lacazette showing his frustration on the sidelines. The striker arrived from Lyon for a fee of 52 million pounds during the summer of 2017.
If any other team come up with the same offer or even more, there are every chance of seeing him getting sold as Unai Emery remains keen to add more power to his backline. Besides wanting to improve that position, they are ken to find a replacement for Aaron Ramsey who will be leaving Arsenal as a free agent to Juventus in the summer transfer window.
Alexandre Lacazette got sent off during Arsenal’s 1-0 loss to BATE away from home in the Europa League. The striker took to social media to apologize to the fans.
Letting the team down like that is the worst feeling..
I should have stayed calm but it’s not always easy.. Sorry 😣
There are still 90 minutes to play and I believe that my teammates will make it to the next round.. #COYG #Laca— Alexandre Lacazette (@LacazetteAlex) February 14, 2019
There is no doubt that Lacazette is one of the fan favourites at the Emirates, but it remains to be seen if the owners would wish him to sell because he was a striker whom they were keen for a long time before luring him away from Groupama Stadium lesser than two years before.
