N’Golo Kante: Chelsea star withdrawn with injury in first half ahead of Europa League Semis

Chelsea star N’Golo Kante is forced to be withdrawn in the first half. 

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante was forced to be substituted in the opening minutes of the first half. The French International picked up a hamstring injury and the extent of the injury is set to be learned and there are fears about his involvement for the Europa League Semifinals against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Kante played the whole game on Thursday night and the workload might have taken a huge toll on the midfielder who looked off the pace from minute one. When the clock was ticking down, he found it difficult and complained to the Chelsea dugout about his problem. Maurizio Sarri was not prepared to take any risk and chose to substitute him.

The 28-year-old was dejected as he made his approach to the tunnel and his failure to proceed will spark fears that he may miss Thursday’s Europa League semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt. Hamstring injuries always hamper the process of players for a few weeks and Sarri will be hoping that it is not the case with his pivotal midfielder.

If he does not play on Thursday, it will be a huge blow for Maurizio Sarri who sees him as a cardinal player in his system. The Blues have an away goal from Frankfurt and it could prove to be pivotal in their en route to the finals of the Europa League.
