Giannis Antetokounmpo Interrupts Damian Lillard’s Interview with Constant LiAngelo Ball ‘Tweaker’ Call-Outs

Giannis Antetokounmpo was in a celebratory mood after the Milwaukee Bucks’ 120-113 win at home over the Miami Heat on Sunday. So much so that he couldn’t stop singing, even forgetting that he might be interrupting a serious matter at hand — a post-match press interaction, for instance.

Damian Lillard, who led the Bucks in scoring with 28 points and had three rebounds and eight assists in the game, was getting interviewed in the locker room when Giannis began singing in the background. Needless to say, with a louder-than-life voice. That too when Dame was answering a serious question about the team’s growth and continuity.

Giannis was singing the chorus to LiAngelo Ball’s ‘Tweaker’. “I might swerve, bend that corner, woah…,” the Bucks star crooned. Well, he surely wasn’t intentionally distracting Lillard, or was he? Because that’s more or less the purpose of his singing served. And, since the Greek Freak has a habit of making his presence felt in Dame’s interviews, we can’t help but doubt his intentions.

Earlier this month, when the Bucks won 112-102 against the Charlotte Hornets, Lillard led the team with 29 points, four rebounds, and 12 assists. While he was being interviewed inside the locker room, Giannis was busy imitating a viral meme.

The Greek Freak was repeatedly yelling, “Hawk tuah that thing.”

What’s funnier is that on both these occasions, Dame kept his serious face on and continued his conversation with the reporters. It was probably tougher this time around for Lillard, with ‘Tweaker’ playing in the background.

Then again, can anyone blame Giannis for singing it? The song has not just overshadowed interviews with basketball stars, it has taken over the country. As per Chart Data, it was the first rap song released in 2025 to sell over 500,000 units in the US. And Gelo is on a roll with it, earning a lucrative record deal.

Ball has signed a record deal worth $13 million with Def Jam. The deal includes $8 million guaranteed money, the ownership of his music, and the freedom to run it through his own label, Born2Ball.

Gelo has truly struck gold with ‘Tweaker’ as it turned into a viral anthem, earning him a slot at Rolling Loud California. As popular as the song is, it’s been nearly two months since it was released. Although Gelo released a remix version with Lil Wayne earlier this month, the hype around the song has slowly faded.

But it seems Giannis is not over the song still. Nor will he be done with his post-game hobby — interrupting Lillard.
