Lionel Messi is preferring Neymar over Antoine Griezmann for one sole reason.

Antoine Griezmann has confirmed his departure from Atletico Madrid. The French International was bound to exit the club last summer, but decided to work under Diego Simeone last season.

At the other hand, Neymar is currently plying his trade with Paris Saint Germain. The former Barcelona forward is in the shortlist for the Blaugrana and rumours have started to rumble again. Manager Thomas Tuchel threw uncertainty around Neymar and Kylian Mbappe’s future during Ligue 1 awards which has attracted the suitors.

According to the reliable Mohamed Bouhafsi, who works with RMC Sport, Lionel Messi wants Neymar over Antoine Griezmann at Barcelona. The Argentine International is open to Neymar’s return because he believes that he possesses a good attitude compared to the Atletico Madrid forward.

Besides, Barcelona are having second thoughts about triggering his release clause. The 28-year-old’s release clause falls from €200 to €125 million in the summer transfer window, but the board does not want to risk because he does not have age in his side. On the other hand, Neymar has is one year younger than him and is arguably the better player between these two.

The report also adds that the reigning Spanish Champions made contact with PSG for the availability for Neymar, but president Al Khelaifi issued a warning about their stance to keep him at any cost.

Neymar holds a €242 million release clause which comes to consideration next summer, but is reportedly unhappen. The Brazilian International is not happy with the competition within the league and wants to move away to a new league and wants to win the Champions League again.

Even though Barcelona have not been able to get near the European trophy near for four years, they hold a high chance to lift that particular trophy than PSG. It will be an interesting summer, but Antoine Griezmann has made himself available for the transfer, whereas, it will not be easy to prise Neymar away from PSG.
