AB de Villiers run-out vs MI

AB de Villiers run-out vs MI: RCB batsman ended up falling short of the crease in the last over against Mumbai Indians.

During the 31st match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Mumbai, Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman AB de Villiers was seen getting run-out in a peculiar manner.

It all happened on the second ball of the last over after de Villiers hit Malinga towards Kieron Pollard at long-on. While de Villiers wanted to come back for the second run, Akshdeep Nath’s late refusal saw him returning back to the non-striker’s end.

By this time, Pollard had affected a direct-hit from long-on to find de Villiers comfortably short of the crease. Been dismissed in the last over, de Villiers’ walk back to the pavilion doubtlessly costed RCB a few runs against Malinga.

Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the third over, de Villiers stitched a 95-run partnership for the third wicket with all-rounder Moeen Ali (50). Playing a titular role throughout RCB’s chase, de Villiers ended up scoring 75 (51) with the help of six fours and four sixes.

On the back of de Villiers’ 32nd IPL half-century, Royal Challengers ended up scoring 171/7 in their allotted quota of 20 overs after Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and put the visitors in to bat. With bowling figures of 4-0-31-4, Lasith Malinga was the pick of Indians’ bowlers.
