Alberto Moreno's ridiculous clearance against Espanyol has gone viral

Alberto Moreno’s ridiculous clearance against Espanyol in a La Liga match has gone viral even though he did not realize while attempting.

Alberto Moreno joined Villarreal after having an underwhelming stint at Liverpool and opted to play for Villarreal after the end of his contract with the Reds.

This is his first season in La Liga ever since he came back from England. So, Moreno was lined up against Espanyol in this game-week of La Liga and he made a ridiculous clearance, which has got viral.

Moreno was in action and was called in action to clear the ball from Villarreal’s territory as the ball came flying in from Espanyol’s half. But the Spaniard fell over as he walked backwards and was completely upside-down when the ball reached him.

And so Moreno improvises and, somehow, still manages to clear the ball with his feet. It’s essentially the most Moreno way to complete a clearance – although, some would argue that the fact it stopped an attack means it’s not very Moreno at all.

Moreover, in the video, it can be seen that it was an accidental brilliance by Moreno, as he was not even in control and the clearance just happened by him. Surely, an unreliable feat by the Spaniard.

Liverpool probably feels relieved as Moreno has not changed ever since moving away from the team, and they have a massive upgrade over him as Andy Robertson is cementing his place as the best left-back in the world.

Meanwhile, it doesn’t seem that Moreno will soon be able to reclaim the reputation he had in his Sevilla days and is also lower in the pecking order of Villarreal’s squad.
