Man Utd News: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ordered Lukaku to train with United’s U-23 and didn’t want him around the squad anymore according to reports.
Romelu Lukaku has long desired a move away from Manchester United. It is an open secret that he wants to ply his trade under Antonio Conte at Inter Milan. Lukaku, aware of his position as second choice striker in the club, requested to be allowed to leave. He refused to speak on his future with the media. The Belgian attributed his silence to the respect he had for the fans. Since then however, much has changed in the club and Lukaku’s relationship with Solskjaer seems to have soured beyond repair.

Lukaku made headlines this week when he was seen training with Anderlecht’s under 18’s instead of training with Manchester United on Tuesday. He has subsequently been fined two weeks wages for it. Which amounts to £400,000.
Solskjaer banishes Lukaku
Many wondered why Lukaku had done what he had and were left puzzled by what was happening. Adam Crafton of the Athletic has now come up with some answers. He wrote:
“My information this afternoon is that Lukaku was told by the club that if he stayed at United’s training ground, he would be expected to train with the club’s Under 23 team. As a leading international striker, Lukaku felt hurt and isolated and this is one of his justifications for instead choosing to spend yesterday at Anderlecht. Lukaku began his career with the Belgian club and maintains strong links with personnel there. Both United and Lukaku’s representatives declined to comment.”

Lukaku has repeatedly praised Antonio Conte. He has even gone on to call him the best coach in the world. This is despite never having played for him before. The Belgian had also leaked confidential data concerning United player’s max speed on his twitter. He was soon ordered to delete the tweet.
The official reason as to why Solskjaer decided to banish Lukaku is unknown. Maybe it was a combination of all the reasons above or perhaps an entirely unknown incident. One thing is almost sure though; Lukaku may not be a United player for too long now.
