Alexis Sanchez’s future is still in the air as the Chilean is yet to sign a new contract with Arsenal, in spite of Arsene Wenger’s insisting that his star player will remain at the club ahead of the 2017/18 season.

And according to outlet Paris United, the 28-year-old has been spotted in the French capital today. The report says he is staying at the Royal Monceau hotel and could be working on a deal with Paris St.Germain .

“Alexis Sanchez is currently at the Royal Monceau, a Parisian hotel in the 8th arrondissement,” Paris United tweeted. “Alexis inquired of some Arsenal team-mates about the city of Paris and Ligue 1.”

French broadcaster Canal Supporters has backed up the claims and insist the Chilean is in Paris to finalise his move with PSG sporting director Antero Henrique.

“Canal Supporters is able to confirm this info. Alexis finalises his contract with Henrique,” they tweeted.

And it’s not just the French media. The Sun has also confirmed Alexis’ spotting in Paris and claim that the Royal Monceau hotel is a common destination of all players who end up signing for the French giants. The Royal Monceau is just a half an hour drive from Parc des Princes .

The 28-year-old is said to have arrived by limousine at the £600-a-night hotel this afternoon.

“His business here is confidential, but we are very used to having superstar footballers staying,” a source from the hotel told The Sun.

PSG have been strongly linked with Alexis for quite some time now , and is said to tempt arsenal with a 70 million pound bid for the Chilean.

Arsenal have insisted all summer that they will not sell Alexis and their decision was to keep the player at Emirates. “The decision has been made and we will stick to that,” the Arsenal boss said. “The decision is not to sell.”

Alexis has one more year left on his contract and could leave for a free transfer, and his unwillingness to put pen on paper for the club might make the Arsenal Board to reconsider their decision.

It is possible that they might accept PSG’s bid , as they might prefer selling Alexis to a foreign club rather than to a direct rival.

The 28-year-old would be a statement signing by the Ligue 1 big-spenders, who are also tracking Barcelona star Neymar in a potential world-record transfer move.

“PSG wants the best players in the world, who are in the best clubs in the world,” PSG manager Unai Emery said this week.

Alexis was one of the only bright sparks in otherwise a disappointing season for the Gunners as they failed to qualify for Champions League for the first time on over 16 years.

Sanchez made 51 appearances for the Gunners last term, scoring 30 goals and racking up 13 assists and is under contract until June 2018.
