With the sides not separated after the 90 minutes and extra-time, Algeria managed to hang onto a win by the barest of threads winning 2-1 in the penalty shoot-out.
Probable Winner
Algeria have been one of the biggest success of this edition of the tournament. Under the tutelage of Djamel Belmadi, the side are an extremely well drilled and organised side with the defence hardly wavering its shape despite the nature of their opposition.
Pairing this with an adequate flair and attacking strength in the front of the park, Algeria have massively impressed with their brand of football. And they are bound to be buoyed by their pristine journey this far and throw the kitchen sink and more at Nigeria.
