Luka Modric transfer news

Luka Modric transfer news: The midfielder has been speculated with a move away from Real Madrid.

Real Madrid have had a disappointing season in the league so far. The side has endured six losses in 20 league games, but climbed to the third position in the table after their win against Sevilla last night.

Casemiro scored a stunning goal in the later stages of the game to give Real Madrid the lead, while Luka Modric put the game to bed with a goal in the injury time.

The Croatian midfielder bagged all the major individual awards last year and continues to be a key figure in the Real Madrid midfield. However, Modric has been heavily linked with a move away from the club.

The midfielder was speculated to join Inter Milan, and their coach Luciano Spalletti even stated that the Italian club is in the process of creating the ‘right conditions’ for him.

“About Modric, it is the sporting director who deals with that. I am not sure how this will finish. That he has shown interest to join us is obviously positive, we are trying to create the right conditions for him to join Inter Milan,” Spalletti said after a pre-season game against Atletico Madrid.

However, Modric has now spoken about his future.

Luka Modric transfer news: Modric breaks silence –

The midfielder stated that he is happy at Real Madrid, and that he wants to stay at the club.

“I have a year and a half left on my contract and I am calm, as that’s a long time,” Modric said after the side’s 2-0 win over Sevilla.

“My desire is to stay here for more time. I am as happy as I was on the first day.”

Modric also stated that the side has recovered from the early setbacks in the season, and their focus remains on improving with every game.

“We are happy with our play and happy with the three points. We need to follow this path. Every player had a great game and our fans want to see us like this.

“We needed a match like this one to give some joy to ourselves and to the supporters. Personally, I feel good and have felt good for the past month and a half.

“We don’t need to think about Barcelona or about how many points we have.  We need to go game by game.”
