Ander Herrera: Man Utd star releases emotional statement confirming Old Trafford exit

Manchester United have released an emotional video of Ander Herrera, confirming his exit from the club this summer.

Manchester United were able to trigger an automatic one-year clause when Ander Herrera was reluctant to commit his future to the club. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tried to convince him to stay at Old Trafford, but the Spanish International has turned down advanced negotiations from the club, thereby confirming his exit from the club this summer.

As fans saw Herrera as one of them, Manchester United social media team decided to release an emotionally driven video.

The Spanish International said the same,

“This is red in my heart.

“I knew it from the first time I played here and in the moment I started to wear it. A club with thousands of fans that respect and remember all the players who gave everything.”

“I felt special when I heard my name chanted. I fell proud when fans decided that I was part of the club’s incredible history.”

“Every time I represented this club, in every game, in every wins and loses, even when I couldn’t help from the grass, I understood what the club means.”

“I am going to remember each of the almost 200 games that I played with this jersey because playing for the greatest club in England has been a true honour.”

Atletico Bilbao decided to sell Ander Herrera to Manchester United for a fee of 36 million during the summer of 2014. He featured for the Red Devils for the next five years, featuring 189 times and found the back of the net 20 times in that period. During his reign, he was able to lift FA Cup, League Cup, and Europa League.

He played a huge part in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s revival at the club and his absence took a toil as the results started to slump. Manchester United will miss his presence inside the dressing room as he was one of the important members in the squad. He is linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain.

Here’s how Twitter reacted..

What’s next?

Manchester United will take on Cardiff City in the final day of the Premier League. The Red Devils are set to finish sixth in the league table and are looking at a busy transfer window as they look to revamp their squad.
