Italian legend Andrea Pirlo will be bringing his career to a close at the end of this year.

The graceful midfielder is widely acknowledged as one of the best players of his generation. Silky smooth on the ball, Pirlo had made his career at AC Milan before he re invented himself at Juventus in the latter phase of his career.

He will end his career with the New York as he will bow out in the MLS.  Pirlo had become one of the main reasons why Juventus returned as a major force in Europe.

The Old Lady moved into a new stadium in Turin and also recruited the out of contract Pirlo. Cast aside by Milan as someone who was past his best Pirlo joined Juventus and inspired them to three Serie A titles.

Pirlo was also instrumental in leading Juventus into the Champions league final as only the brilliant MSN trio at Barcelona prevented a Champions league triumph for Pirlo.

At the international level, the world got to see Pirlo at his best in the 2006 World Cup as he was an integral part of the world cup winning Italian side.

Again in the 2012 Euros, Pirlo was again instrumental as his Italian side reached the final before they lost to the all conquering Spanish side.

Now soon retiring, there are many reports that say that Pirlo will be looking to join Antonio Conte as a part of his coaching staff at Stamford Bridge.

This is what Pirlo said,

“My future, I don’t know yet. I will return to Italy in December,” he told Gazetta dello Sport.

“An assistant to Conte? People are saying that. I have my ideas but I need time to decide.”
