In spite of being one of the most exciting forwards in world football right now, Anthony Martial find himself in a state of flux at Manchester United right now.
After a sensational debut season for the Red Devils, Martial had a poor second season at Old Trafford. Things picked up though this year, as Martial has already scored 11 goals in the Premier League so far.
But Martial is yet to cement his position in the starting lineup, as his place on the left wing has now been taken up Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez.
Martial was sharing the left wing spot with Marcus Rashford early in the season, before Sanchez came and displaced him from the starting lineup.
Due to his hefty price tag, Sanchez is now an undisputed starter at the club, with both Martial and Rashford being the casualties.
With the World Cup set to start in a couple of months time, Martial knows that he will need to start playing more regularly if he wants to start in France’s first match at the tournament.
The attacker is now looking to switch clubs in the summer, as he does not feel that Jose Mourinho will get the best out of him. Martial is not sort of suitors either, as both Real Madrid and Barcelona are extremely interested in the striker.
While United want Ivan Rakitic in place of Martial, they are ready to offer the striker to Real Madrid as well in exchange for Marco Asensio. A move to Real Madrid makes more sense to Martial as the potential arrival of Antoine Griezmann will make it very difficult to break into the starting lineup.
But if Luis Suarez does get sold in the summer, then another spot might be open which could pave the path for the Frenchman.
