Bollywood superstar Anushka Sharma has now become the first lady of Indian cricket after her marriage to Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
The actress married her long term partner Kohli in a very private and intimate function wedding ceremony in Milan a couple of days ago.
Anushka and Virat took the decision to hold their wedding outside India on the advice of Bollywood big shot Adithya Chopra.
The director, who married Rani Mukherjee, warned the pair that their wedding could become a big ‘tamasha’ if they had held it in India.
The paparazzi would have engulfed them and not respected their privacy which was certainly a concern for the star studded couple.
‘Virushka’ will hold a grand reception in New Delhi and then in Mumbai before they leave for their honeymoon to South Africa.
Personalities from both the cricketing and film industries congratulated the pair and sent them their best wishes on social media.
One such star was Rohit Sharma, who sent a cheeky tweet to the newly weds after they confirmed their marriage on social media.
“Congratulations you two! @imVkohli , I’ll share the husband handbook with you. @AnushkaSharma , keep the surname”
Anushka then gave a wonderful reply as she thanked Rohit and also congratulated him for his historic double century yesterday.
“Hahaha thanks Rohit! And congratulations on your splendid innings “
The Hitman was in fine form as he smashed his third double century in ODI cricket, putting him in a league of his own.
Rohit started started slowly before he climbed into the lackluster Sri Lankan attack and demolished them all around the PCA stadium in Mohali.
