Arsenal 2-1 Burnley: 5 talking points after the Gunners secure another win in the Premier League

Arsenal 2-1 Burnley: 5 talking points after the Gunners wins their second Premier League match of the season against Burnley at the Emirates.

Arsenal clashed Burnley in their second Premier League game and were able to register two successive wins in the league, making it the perfect start for the Gunners in the league.

The Unai Emery side never had to overcome a deficit or were dominated by the Clarets. Instead, the North London club played an effective football to damage Burnley today.

However, in the way, the Gunners also missed several chances and could have buried the match or won more easily had they been converted. With Pierre Emric Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazzete at the service, the Gunners firepower has been strong as both the strikers have scored tonight to make Arsenal win.

On the other hand, Burnley were expected to come tough on Arsenal, especially after the first game against Southampton but against Arsenal, they conceded the first goal, although they equalized in between. However, Aubameyang’s strike made Arsenal win the match.

With this, the North London club secured three points in the game and went on victorious from the pitch. The Sportsrush will discuss five talking points after Arsenal 2-1 Burnley.#1 Aubameyang and Lacazette are back together with fire

Arsenal 2-1 Burnley

In the last match against Newcastle United, Alexandre Lacazette remained on the bench and it was unknown until the lineups were announced, but fortunately, the French striker made an appearance tonight to continue his alliance with Pierre Emrick Aubameyang.

The Gunners were looking lethal with both the strikers upfront supported by Dani Ceballos. With this, it seems Unai Emery will continue with the same setup.

Both Lacazette and Aubameyang scored goals to make their side grab another three points, as they now have two positive results from the two games played so far.

Although, despite scoring two goals, Arsenal missed several chances, and Gunners could have ended the match much before. Hence, the frontline has to work hard upon it, if they want to maintain the string of wins.

#2 Dani Ceballos

Arsenal 2-1 Burnley

The Spanish midfielder on loan to Arsenal from Real Madrid made a promising start for Arsenal tonight. With his inclusion in the lineup, Arsenal had a better fluidity in the game.

Additionally, Ceballos gave two assists for the two goals scored by Arsenal, hence making a major contribution to the win tonight. The signing of Ceballos by Arsenal has benefited them.

However, the Spanish International is certain to leave the club after the end of his loan move, but Ceballos is determined to make many appearances for Arsenal in the upcoming fixtures and might be prioritized ahead of the other midfielders.

Maybe on a temporary basis but Ceballos is the key to solve Arsenal’s midfield problems.

#3 No start for Nicolas Pepe but still sharp

Arsenal 2-1 Burnley

The expensive signing of Nicolas Pepe was expected to start regularly but the French International have not started in the last two Premier League games and only have come on as a substitute.

It is understood that Emery doesn’t want the young winger to be rushed into the team and have physical strain and rather wants him to adapt to the Premier League.

The French International in the last two matches have only come onto the pitch in the second half including today’s match. Despite it, Pepe have been able to give solid performances. It clearly shows that the player has something special coming forward.

The French winger was bought to end Gunners concerns at the right-wing, and have been playing at the same position since the last two matches and have shown phases of brilliance.

However, it remains to see how will he perform, once he obtains regular starts under Emery.

#4 Burnley attack was sloppy

Arsenal 2-1 Burnley

Burnley was phenomenal in the last game played against Southampton, as they annihilated the Saints by scoring three goals, and were deemed as one of the sides to look ahead.

However, Burnley’s attack, which was its key last time looked sloppy against Arsenal, as the Clarets struggled inside the 18-yard-box, eve though Bernd Leno looked uncomfortable at certain instances.

Even though Ashley Barnes scored tonight, but it doesn’t reflect his performance tonight, but it could be seen as one off-performance by Burnley, and with upcoming fixtures ahead, the promising team of the Premier League might bounce back.

#5 Will Ashley Barnes be in Premier League golden boot race?

Arsenal 2-1 Burnley

Ashley Barnes have scored 3 goals in two appearances for Burnley in the Premier League. With this phenomenal form can Barnes be in a contest against Harry Kane, Aubameyang, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for Premier League golden boot race.

Certainly, for this the Burnley striker has a long way to go, and have to keep adding goals in the tally with every match in the upcoming days. Additionally, Barnes has to be supported by the team to excel further.

Surely, it will be a great fairytale story, if Barnes lands at the top of the chart for the most number of the goals scored in a season.
