Adrien Rabiot to Arsenal

Arsenal have joined the race to sign the wantaway Adrien Rabiot.

Unai Emery has been looking to bolster options all around the park to strengthen the Gunners and take them forward in a positive way. The Spaniard has done a pretty decent job by signing the mixture of experienced and youth with the funds he has been implemented in the first two transfer windows.

The former Sevilla manager was able to invite the likes of Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi, Sokratis, Stephen Leichsteiner, and Denis Suarez to the Gunners roster and looks to clean out the average players from the squad soon.

In order to bolster their midfield options, Arsenal are said to be keeping tabs on the Paris Saint-Germain wantaway star Adrien Rabiot, according to the English outlet Mirror. The French International was said to sign for Barcelona, but the Blaugrana opted for the Ajax starlet Frenkie De Jong for a fee of 90 million euros.

The 23-year-old midfielder, who refused to extend his contract with the French outfit has been forced to sit out of the first team over the last two months. PSG Manager Thomas Tuchel asked if he would reunite the French midfielder to the squad, but his approach was turned down by the board.

It has been a tough time for the midfielder who was placed on the transfer list, but he could not find any suitors in the January transfer market. The reigning French Champions were ready to sell him for a fee between 10 and 15 million euros, but he was overlooked by other sides.

According to various sources, Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest on Adrien Rabiot, but the reports also read that the midfielder turned down any interest from Mauricio Pochettino who tried to convince the French International and has said that he would prefer a move to Liverpool.

The Mirror says that Arsenal are the latest to enter the race for Adrien Rabiot as Unai Emery feels that he would have an upper hand having already worked with the midfielder at Paris.

There is no doubt that Rabiot would be demanding a hefty wage, but the Gunners are not looking to miss out on a free transfer. Aaron Ramsey’s contract expires after this season and Adrien Rabiot looks to be a good midfielder to fill his boots in London.

Matteo Guendouzi said that he moved to Arsenal because there has always been French connection with the club. The likes of Thierry Henry, Patrick Viera, Samir Nasri, Laurent Koscielny, and Gael Clichy are some of the players to have represented the Gunners from France. Can Arsenal lure another French International to the Emirates in the upcoming transfer window?
