Florian Balogun Contract Extension : The American starlet is on the cusp of exiting Arsenal in the summer.
Touted as one of the most exciting and riveting prospects in English football at the moment, Florian Balogun looks set to be depart Arsenal’s ranks. The player is refusing to sign a contract extension at the club despite the club eager to nail him down beyond his current summer deal.
However, Balogun is far from pleased from the contract terms dished out to him. And with a plethora of clubs extremely interested in the 19 year old American wonderkid, Balogun is said to be strongly considering switching sides once his deal curbs.
Florian Balogun’s Contract Extension
Speaking about Balogun’s contract situation at the club, Mikel Arteta alluded towards the player’s agent for causing a hinderance in the deal. Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s third round tie in the FA Cup against Newcastle United, the Spanish manager talked about how Balogun’s agent was stalling the player’s extension.
“You need three parties to make a deal,” Arteta said. “For sure, the club wants to make a deal, the manager wants to make a deal, the player wants to stay and I’m not sure about the agent.
“I’m not saying he’s stopping the deal. I’m saying that we need to find an agreement with him.”
Balogun is also said to have grown increasingly discontent with his role at the club with the player yet to make any real inroads this season. Despite scoring on a couple of occasions in the Europa League, he’s not been able to make an impact in the Premier League.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is said to be an ardent admirer of the player with the striker also taking Balogun under his wings.
“He is very, very talented, for sure, and he shows every time he plays with us that he’s a really great talent.
“He works hard and is a humble guy as well. I love his style – he’s like an American rapper – he’s cool!
“We get on well, I don’t see him that much, but when he trains with us we have a laugh, with Lacazette as well,” Aubameyang had said back in November.
Balogun who was born in New York also faces a tricky decision when it comes on the international front. The precarious player has an opportunity to play for all of USA, England and Nigeria with him yet to nail down on the country he wants to represent.
