One such move, often used by WWE superstars AJ Styles and Fin Balor, is the famous Pele Kick; A move that has its origin rooted in soccer. 

Edson Arantes do Nascimento, popularly known as Pele, is considered one of the GOATs of the football world. With his memorable performances on the ground, the 3-time World Cup winner has inspired millions around the world. And not just football, the Black Pearl has also had a great influence behind a widely-used wrestling move.

During the prime of his football career, Pele was well-known for using the bicycle kick. Representing Brazil on a global level, the 82-year-old has changed the course of many games with the popular kick. With the kind of star power Pele had, it was just a matter of time before people of other sports started using his move.

Although the exact origin is difficult to dig out, Pele Kick is one of the popular moves used in the wrestling ring. And the football legend is the one who inspired the origin of Pele Kick. The move has been used in the ring for decades for which the Brazilian Legend deserves all the credit.

Unfortunately, the man who has inspired millions is currently going through some serious health troubles. Though if you ask the 82-year-old legend, he is strong and positive about his well-being.

Pele recently addressed the rumors surrounding his health through a social media post

Battling Colon Cancer, the legendary footballer had a tumor removed from his colon last year in September. However, for the last few days, there were rumors that the three-time World Cup winner was receiving end-of-life care. Though Pele debunked all of that through a recent social media post.

The Brazilian legend took to his Instagram and opened up about his current health status. Pele shared his latest medical report and asked his well-wishers to stay calm and positive. He further added that he is in stable condition and follows his treatment as usual.

Nevertheless, it’s good to know that Pele is in a better physical and mental state despite battling a major illness. The SportsRush wishes the football legend a speedy recovery.
